And then, we continued to enjoy the water at the Pool.  One more swimming..hurrayyyy

Checked out time. Then, our journey started to discover  the City Proper of ANGELES.

Along the way, we passed by at the AIR FORCE CITY PARK.  We did not get off from  our jeepney because it might become difficult for us to get a ride from there to city proper.

Our first destination...At the HOLY ROSARY PARISH CHURCH.

The church of the mother parish of all Angeles parishes.

The church was constructed from 1877 to 1896 by the townspeople of Angeles who were made to work under the Spanish government, where all native males, 16-60, were required to perform manual labor for free.  From 1899 to 1900, the U.S. Army used the church as a military hospital.

Next to the Church you will find the HOLY ANGEL UNIVERSITY.

Across the  Church you can see the MUSEO NING ANGELES.

The Museo Ning Angeles building is a priceless asset, vintage circa 1920, the edifice is a museum piece by itself, located at the prime Sto. Rosario Historic District across the Holy Rosary Cathedral.  This edifice was constructed in 1922 and served as the municipio (town hall) until 1999 after which it was turned over to Kuliat Foundation and converted into what is now the Museo Ning Angeles

As we were walking along the main road of Sto. Rosario St. (going east from the church), we passed by at one of the historical land mark of the city, the BAHAY NA BATO.

The house is a typical bahay na bato with a stone and roughly cut tree trunks as foundation.  Located along Sto. Rosario Street, it is the oldest structure and best preserved ancestral house in the city.
The house was built in 1824 by Don Angel Pantaleon de Miranda using materials salvaged from his older house (built in 1811).  A marker placed by the National Historical Institute can be seen on its front adobe wall.

Next to Bahay na Bato is the CAMALIG.

CAMALIG.  Built in 1840 and restore for adaptive use in 1980.  Nestled between two oldest houses in the City of Angeles, is a restaurant, reminiscent of the cozy coffeehouses of the 1960’s.  Built by Don ciriaco de Miranda, Angeles First gobernadorcillo (mayor), and used for storing grains until the early 1960’s, it was restored by the late Mr. Armando L. Nepomuceno.  Camalig is the home of Armando’s Pizza.

Its almost mid-afternoon and we were starving, so we dined at Camalig and tasted their best seller, the SISIG and famous ARMANDO'S PIZZA.

After that great lunch at the Historical Camalig Restaurant, a local resident that we met at Camalig suggested to us to visit the APU CHAPEL also known as CHAPEL OF APUNG MAMACALULU.

Apung Mamacalulu (Santo Entierro of Angeles City) is an Archdiocesan Shrine found in Barangay Lourdes Sur, Angeles City. It was a statue of a Dead Christ, known as the "Santo Entierro" or the Holy Sepulcher.
Apung Mamacalulu is He who bestows mercy beyond the grave. His images are found in majority of churches all over the world - others are supine, bruised, caught in the final act of love and sacrifice that has spelled salvation for mankind.
Apu, as He is fondly called by devotees, has become a symbol of hope for people longing for a connection to the Divine especially when all else has failed. Thousands flock to visit Him every Friday, either in joyful thanksgiving for an answered prayers, or in fervent supplication for favorable response to a petition.
Every kiss that lands His badly bruised feet or a touch that grazes His battered hand comes with a deep conviction that by His death and resurrection, He has made all things new.

Before we left Angeles City, we took a look at the PLAZA , just  next to jeepney central terminal.  It's a nice place for recreation.  Some students hang out there.
